Even though I really WANT to like the game, I just can't. it is essentially just like a spilled Coffee.

I would have been mad if I payed full price but for $2. but, in my opinion, the Developer messed it up. Hard West could have been a very good release for the Switch, I like the ideas, the graphic, the theme. why ? That does not make ANY sense at all. Or you decide to rush a room, move in with the enemy right in front of you, you can shoot and you WILL miss. Other times your enemy is on the second floor and with you directly beneath and you get a 100% hit chance. You quite often place your character in a position with cover and with a pretty much clean sight to the Enemy (no table, chairs or anything in between, yet you only get a 50% hit chance. You certainly could get past the Camera issue if the game would be a bit more fair.

Either a fully free moving camera or a Zoom would have been awesome. Moving around the camera is often not helpful at all.

If you're characters are in a confined space such as a House, it is very hard to actually see where you can move and still have cover. I think this game has some great Ideas in terms of Story and the idea to add some text adventure style game play but it fails in some other areas. I did buy it on a massive discount for just $2 instead of some $20 and boy am I glad I did not pay full price. I did buy it I love this kind of games and I have to admit that I was eager to buy the Game for the Switch after reading and watching reviews. I definitely recommend it for those people stuck at home looking for a solid 15-20 hours of content for a low price. The choices you make actually do matter down the road as some things carry over from one campaign to the next and the game encourages replay with all of the branching paths based on choices. The story of the game was very dark but I enjoyed that kind of story because it's fairly fresh for a tactical type of rpg. I would love some sort of indicator that showed when you went to a certain location which enemies were targetable. There were also issues with line of sight and sometimes it was hard to get into a position that would let you get the shot just right. There were times when my character didn't do what I wanted him to do and ended up dying for it. One issue I had was the camera and targeting doors or other mission objectives. I liked the luck system but one of my favorite parts of the game was the poker card bonus system and how you could really feel your characters progressing from map to map and how some of the rare items you obtained would be unlocked and purchasable at a later date by different characters in other campaigns. It was very similar to xcom which I am a huge fan of. The game is difficult and the gameplay is interesting. After playing the game I wanted a bit more but for $1 on the eshop I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. The music and art in the game was really nice and helped with the immersion. I felt somewhat immersed in the stories and I enjoyed the little details in the text that made this game feel like a unique western experience.
